Meet Scott Tarwater. I first met Scott at Cross Timbers Rotary. Scott is a business consultant, husband, father, grandfather and proud citizen of the Flower Mound community. When asked to describe himself he says, “I am a Christian and enjoy keeping up with world events and economic trends. I currently consult for numerous clients in Hotels & Mixed-use Developments . Several of my projects are in Oklahoma City so I have been spending quite a bit of time there. I enjoy traveling, fly-fishing and bow-hunting and spending time with my family.” Scott is a delightful member of our community and his positive attitude and entreprenuerial spirit are inspiring to those who know him. His career path has been interesting and his risk-taking abilities, spirit of adventure and leadership skills have been instrumental in his many successes.
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I just celebrated my 45th wedding anniversary with my wife Donna. We have a daughter and a son; 8 grandchildren who all live within 5 miles of us. Donna and I were married in the front yard of my family’s old farmhouse overlooking Lake Grapevine which was built in 1905 and now is a part of The Lakeside Village development. We have a long history in the Grapevine/Flower Mound area.
Q: Please tell us about your current career. What led to it? What do you love most about it?
I currently consult for owners in various states who which to develop a hotel & mixed-use development. I have had the pleasure of developing 80+ upper-upscale hotels & conference centers in 40 states. It has afforded Donna and I the opportunity to travel extensively and make life-long friends throughout the country.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Continuing to fulfill our travel bucket list and watch our beautiful grandchildren mature.
Q: Are you involved in anything, such as community groups or hobbies, that you really enjoy outside of work and family life?
Yes, Donna and I are very involved with our Cross Timbers Rotary and our Church (Lewisville Lighthouse).
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community and what do you love to eat/drink there?
Bistecca Italian Steakhouse & Hillside. I like to try new things each time I go and have never been disappointed.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Fortunately, we have traveled extensively, and I have fly-fishing in New Zealand on my bucket list.

TV show-“1883″/ Book: Boom (about the formation and history of Oklahoma City)
Q: What advice would you give your younger self? Do you have a favorite quote or saying?
Advice, “Never let anyone steal your dreams”. Favorite saying: “Hit it Like You Live!!”
Has anything interesting/challenging/unusual happened in your life that has shaped you into who you are today?
Yes my wife led me to accept Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord

Fly fishing in New Zealand

A quiver full of arrows with the points dipped in Love to defend the less fortunate
