Ginger Eads

Meet Ginger Eads.  Ginger has just completed her term as the  2019-2020 President of Flower Mound’s  Cross Timbers Rotary Club.  This Rotary club is dynamic and under her leadership had another tremendous year actively supporting the community, giving more than $40,000 to local non-profits groups, and starting a build on a Habitat House for a local family…. all during a pandemic!   Ginger’s leadership skills have been inspiring to observe as she led the club during a most unusual year. Ginger is also an active member of the Flower Mound Chamber of Commerce, faithful member of First United Methodist Church and enjoys reading, gardening and spending time with her children. She exemplifies the spirit of Rotary’s “Service Above Self”.

Ginger also owns a small, boutique accounting firm in Flower Mound.  She has been serving the Flower Mound and surrounding area for more than 23 years. She utilizes expert tax and accounting strategies to serve her individual clients’ needs.  Ginger’s firm is located in Parker Square and they can be reached by calling 214-893-3184.  If you are looking for a quality CPA,  Ginger would be happy to have a conversation to see how she might be able to assist you.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I am married to Andy Eads, Denton County Judge and we’ve been married for 27 years. We have three beautiful children who keep our life very full. Everett is 20 and a student at Texas Tech University, Addison is 18 and plans to attend Texas Tech University, and Caroline is 13 and is in 8th grade at Downing Middle School.

Q: Please tell us about your current career. What led to it? What do you love most about it?
I’m the owner of a small CPA firm. I am a detailed person and I always liked math, so I majored in Accounting in college. I’ve always done public accounting. I most enjoy helping my clients with their business accounting needs. I have had many of my clients for a long time and it’s rewarding to see their business grow and flourish!

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Hopefully, still living in Flower Mound and still helping my clients. I want to have a weekend getaway and see my kids often even though they won’t be at home.

Q: Are you involved in anything, such as community groups or hobbies, that you really enjoy outside of work and family life?
I enjoy working in the yard, sitting on the backyard patio reading a book and spending time with friends. I am President of the Cross Timbers Rotary Club and Chairman of the Board at Medical City Lewisville. I enjoy giving back to the community that I love.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community and what do you love to eat/drink there?
I love Bistecca/The Grotto Bar – Caprese salad, Steak Salerno. And anything Mexican food! We eat Mexican food about once a week!

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
There are too many to list – we live in the best community in the world! I never want to leave!

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
I would travel to London, England – I went last year for the first time and I think about it every day. I felt a kinship with the English people and I’m ready to go back and explore some more in the English countryside.

Q: What book and/or TV show have you enjoyed the most during the last year?
Right now I am reading Talking to Strangers by Malcolm Gladwell and I just finished Sweet Magnolias on Netflix. My favorite books are historical fiction and I love documentaries and lifestyle TV shows.

Q: What advice would you give your younger self? Do you have a favorite quote or saying?
Don’t be so eager to grow up and do the “adulting” thing. Have fun, travel and be a young adult for a while – enjoy it!

Q: Has anything interesting/challenging/unusual happened in your life that has shaped you into who you are today?
Yes, but people who get paid the big bucks for therapy would have to figure that out! Let’s just say I am a product of my past experiences – good and bad.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
Travel, travel, travel. I love exploring new places and I have just as much fun planning the trip as I do going on the trip!

Q: If you could have a super power, what would it be?
Visiting heaven & speaking with loved ones.

Q: What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
I’ll listen to George Strait & Band.

Q: If you could choose anyone, past or present, who would you want to have lunch with? Where would you want to eat?
I’d want to eat with all of my grandparents – just one more time. Around their kitchen tables.

Q: Do you have a favorite business or 2 in our community?
Brightside Boutique!!!!! It is my “go-to” for gifts and sometimes for myself!

Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I competed in pageants when I was younger.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
The television show “Mad Men” – Superb!

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My husband, Andy, and my kids. I want to be better every day for them.
