Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My husband Mike and I just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. I have one daughter, Taylor, and she and my son-in-law, Jamey, and 3 amazing grandkids live in Corinth. I have lots of bonus kids, also, who I love dearly. I’m the oldest of four girls and most of us, including my parents, live within a few miles of each other.

Q: Please tell us about your current career. What led to it? What do you love most about it?
I’m the president of the Lewisville Area Chamber of Commerce and spent a decade as the president of the Flower Mound Chamber. Between these two chamber positions, I did a four-year stint as an interior designer, served as Chief Development Officer for CISNT, and most recently was the Economic Development Director for Denton County. The thing I love most about the Lewisville Area Chamber is the people. We have a great team and every day is fun! I enjoy helping businesses of all sizes gain exposure, get connected, and grow in this community.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I might should say retired, but I love my job and I can’t imagine not doing it.

Q: Are you involved in anything, such as community groups or hobbies, that you really enjoy outside of work and family life?
I’m a founding member and second president of the Cross Timbers Rotary Club. I’ve been a Rotarian for almost 30 years and serve as one of the district’s Assistant Governors. I’m also a young adult Sunday school teacher at our church, First Baptist Church Lake Dallas. I enjoy travel, reading, writing, fashion and interior design, and I’m a bit of a political junkie. Plus I like to keep up with social media trends and strategies.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community and what do you love to eat/drink there?
My favorite is probably Hillside Fine Grill and the triple dip and cedar plank salmon are my go-to’s. I also love Gabriella & Sofia’s (I highly recommend the brisket enchiladas) and Salerno’s, where I can’t resist the pecan chicken or the lasagna.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
I find my closest friends quite interesting and I enjoy getting together over lunch or dinner just to talk.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
As much as I love white sand and turquoise blue water, I would go back to Italy. The whole country is beautiful, especially Florence, my favorite city in the world.

Q: What book and/or TV show have you enjoyed the most during the last year?
I read the first Outlander book, which led us to watch the entire Outlander series. I also loved the Pillars of the Earth trilogy and I like reading most all historical fiction.

Q: What advice would you give your younger self? Do you have a favorite quote or saying?
Don’t try to force everything. Slow down and allow life to happen, and enjoy every moment. Quote: “Live simply. Dream big. Be grateful. Give love. Laugh lots.” Also, “Seek first to understand, then to be understood.”

Has anything interesting/challenging/unusual happened in your life that has shaped you into who you are today?
Our first grandson died when he was 10 months old due to a choking accident. That changed all our lives forever. I make sure to treasure everyone and everything that’s special in my life and I try not to miss any opportunities to let family and friends know how important they are to me.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
To see more of the world.

Q: If you could have a super power, what would it be?
I don’t want a super power, I just want someone to wash and style my hair a few times a week.

Q: What is your go to band when you cant decide what to listen to?
JJ Grey & Mofro

Q: If you could choose anyone, past or present, who would you want to have lunch with? Where would you want to eat?
Probably George W. Bush and we would have lunch at Rise in Dallas. It’s one of my favorite restaurants and he often eats there, as well.

Q: Do you have a favorite business or 2 in our community?
In no particular order, Flower Mound Market Street, Painted Tree, Home Goods and DSW Shoes. 🙂

Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I once was a whitewater river rafting guide on weekends, and I love camping and hiking and being outdoors.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
Family. The beach. Carrot cake from The Keg.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My husband, my parents and my daughter.
